Do you think Caesar's killers were justified in their actions?
I do not think their act was just or unjust. One way I agree with some of the reasons that they killed him. But I do not agree with all of it. They should have killed him because his friends tried to warn him. He decided to ignore them because he thought he was immortal and would be unstoppable. But, I do not agree with the reasons of why they killed him. His friends were jealous of him. They also were nervous of him because they thought he would be a bad leader. They were also afraid that he would be more powerful than the whole senate. They were scared he would eventually take away all the power from the senate. I couldn't understand why they would find ways to kill him, and to make him look bad. They tried sending Caesar to Gaul where he would die, but he did not die, instead he conquered it. I think in the end it wasn't really necessary to kill him because had did you let him get into power if you didn't think he was going to take over.

9. Were the Julio-Claudians really as bad as they seem?
The Julio Claudian dynasty is the first five emperors who ruled in the Roman Empire. The rulers consists of Augustus, Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, and Nero. Many people portray the emperors as evil people and made them seem like mean people. First was Augustus, he kept on remarrying his only daughter, Julia, so he could possess an heir to the thrown after he died. The Next was Tiberius he was adopted by Emperor Augustus. Then was Caligula, he became the first “Julio Claudian” emperor because he belonged to both ancestries. Not only that however, he was also a direct descendent of Augustus Caesar. But even with his powerful dynasty, Caligula was insane. He found it funny to kill people, he killed his own cousin so that he would be emperor. Claudius was next he was Caligula’s uncle. Claudius was found hidden behind a curtain. Nero was next in line to the throne when Claudius died from poison. Nero was the last Julio Claudian. When the Roman Empire erupted into flames he played his violin as it burned to the ground. These emperors were weird but nothing out of the ordinary.

How was the Struggle of the Orders influential on later Roman politics?
The Struggle has influenced the Roman politics in many ways. First it affected the way Romans made decisions. The Plebes, which made up majority of the society, had one seat in the whole entire senate. They made the job up after the Plebes decided to rebel. They did it to stop a revolution. The job was the Tribune of the Plebeians, he spoke for all of the Plebeians, and he was able to veto any laws. With this power in society, meant that there would be less laws against the plebeians, which gave them more rights. This is similar to the our Checks and Balance system in America. This helped stop the revolution in newly formed Rome. This is how the Struggle of Orders helped make Rome better.

What elements of the Roman Republican political and legal system appear present in the systems of modern democracies?
There are many aspects of Romes political system that are just like ours. They are a Republican Democracy and we are a constitutional republic and representative democracy. There are many aspects that are the same in both governments. For example, our senate is just like theirs. They make laws and vote on them. They can override the presidents veto. Also they had something similar to our judicial court that upholds the law. They would collect taxes by "farming them". This is how our governments are the same.

Day 3
Dear Diary,
This Place is very weird. There are these colorful rolling boxes. I think they call them "cars" but I'm not sure. These people dress very weird and speak a weird language. I need to go home. This place scares me I knew I should have not stayed in that bar all night I ended up here in this distant land. I still ponder how this happened. There are this man that runs the whole Country. I'm not sure what he does but they call him the president. I also question their ethics. They eat with their hands and their food is called "McDonalds". I have done some exploring and found these giver of foods every where. I decided to taste these food. It is very salty and greasy and GOOD. At least that is one good thing. I can't tell the Nobles from the Peasants here.
Good Night ;)

Special Question
Please write a five paragraph essay on the question: Was Alexander's adventure really worth it? In your body paragraphs, you must cite specific examples to back up your thesis -- examples must include one from each of the following: Egypt, Persepolis, Afghanistan, India.
Personally I don’t think Alexander’s quest was worth it. He was a crazy person and didn’t deserve to be a leader because he was a bad one. He never got to see his home ever again and he didn’t deserve to have the resources he had. He just wanted a legend because conquering Persia would make him a hero. I think he should never have gone into Persia. From my point of view I think he should have stayed in Athens, he should have lead his country to greatness, and should have brought Athens to be the leader of the Mediterranean.
Firstly, I Believe he should have stayed in Athens. He never got back to Athens. I believe if he stayed in Athens he would have lead the Athenians to greatness. But he was too ambitious and wanted to make a hero of himself. He is now a legend because he was reckless and just did many stupid things.
Secondly, if he stayed in Athens he would have been a great leader. He could have made Athens a main port in the Greek world. He could have made Athens a democracy again. If they were a democracy he could have made a bigger empire in the Mediterranean. If he had done this he could have taken over an even bigger part of the world. He would have made the world a better empire and united everyone.
Finally, he could have become the leader of the Mediterranean. He could have united the many states of Greece. The world would be a different place because he would have made Athens the center of trade and an awesome place to be. It probably would have changed the world for the better. His empire probably would have been contested by all the other empires. But he could have taken them on. Maybe his empire could be around today if he took my advice.
In the end, Alexander did everything wrong. He became a legend because he did reckless things. He was not that smart and he just did very stupid things. He just wanted to make a legend for himself. I don’t think Alexander’s quest was worth it. As I said he was a crazy person and didn’t deserve to be a leader because he was a bad one. Like I said, from my point of view I think he should have stayed in Athens, he should have lead his country to greatness, and should have brought Athens to be the leader of the Mediterranean.

Does Power Corrupt? How or How Not? Why or Why Not? Do you think Alexander was corrupted? And who influenced whom the most: Did Persia become more Greek or did Alexander becoming more Persian?
I think power can corrupt people. Power can do many things to people. Power can corrupt, change people, and ruin empires. When it comes to Alexander I think power started to corrupt him after he beat the at the first battle. I think he changed Persia and also was changed by Persia.
First off, power corrupts people in many ways. One way it changes the way they lead. They are more risky and take risks. They will send people into battle even though the odds are against them. It also can change them and make them more demanding and less lenient. It could make you more harsh on you citizens and generals. Finally, Corruption of power can lead to losses because you can become more conservative and save all your countries money and launder it to their bank account.
Secondly, I think Alexander became corrupted. At first he wasn't corrupted but became changed over time. He was so corrupted he got very risky and lost more battles. E was also meaner then he was before. He would bully his generals and kill people who denied him. He was just being a jerk and didn't deserve to be emperor.
Finally, I think both Alexander and Persia were changed. They both effected each other in different ways. The way Alexander changed Persia was he conquered it would never have been the same. Persia never recovered. I think Alexander was changed by Persia little ways. Persia changed alexander by making him more Persian and changed his ruling style. It also made him more arrogant because he thought he could do anything.
In the end I think power does corrupt people. As I said before, power can do many things to people. Alexander, I think power started to corrupt him after he beat the at the first battle. I think he changed Persia and also was changed by Persia. This is what I think of power affects people.
